…because that’s the best of my reality. I’m tired of wasting my time on something that isn’t going to last. I’m ready to put my all in something that will. After all, I had my fun: the nights I partied my life away, the nights I danced until I couldn’t feel my feet, the nights I drank until I forgot my name, the nights I did all kinds of crazy things that I’ll never remember, the nights when I wake up the next morning asking “did last night really happen”, the nights I put the mushrooms growing in my front yard in my mouth because I was too wasted to know any better, the nights I spent in space, the nights I swore wouldn’t happen again, the nights I never went home, the nights I based off of “yolo”, the nights I didn’t care who I was kissing, the nights I didn’t care what happened to me, the nights I forgot what was really important, the nights I …..regret. Those were the nights I lived for. Well thought I lived for, because I’m starting to realize it isn’t about what I’m going to do tonight, but what I’m going to do for the rest of my life… because I’m ready to become somebody. To promise myself a future. But I’m also ready to find that somebody. I’m ready to love that somebody. I’m ready to put that somebody before myself. That somebody that will not only turn my dreams into my reality, but also give me meaning to the nights I’ll live for.
I feel like I can relate to this post. Mostly the parts I’ve bolded. Everyone had their fair share of fun. I know I did! Of course I knew my limits when I went out at night. Even still, party nights get old and eventually you find it much more enjoyable with someone special. :] People experience different things to appreciate what they have. I’m lucky someone like you came along to change my point of view on relationships. Reminding me to give 100% and to not be afraid.
